DNA polymorphism is the basis of plant diversity. In this paper, factors affecting DNA polymorphism were reviewed. In addition, the applied fields of DNA polymorphism such as gene location, gene cloning and gene function analysis are discussed. It has demonstrated a bright prospect for applications of DNA polymorphism in plant functional genomics.
