    Abstract:

During 2001-2004,a total of 413 inbred lines and 59 hybrids of maize have been evaluated for resistance to gray leaf spot caused by Cercospora zeae-maydis Tehon & Daiels, using a syringe inoculation in the field condition.Six highly resistant and twenty-eight resistant inbred lines and seven resistant hybrids were screened for the disease. The result showed that there was significantly resistance difference among inbred and hybrids, only a few of the highly resistant inbred resources were fund, but none of the hybrids was highly resistant. It is necessary to collect and evaluate the resistant germplasm in breeding program.
