    Abstract:

    The inositol contents of 86 pumpkin germplasms were analyzed with the HPLC technique.18 pumpkin germplasms with high inositol contents and good agricultural characters were obtained.The contents of inositol in the fruits of ‘Tianbuding’ was 16.44mg/g,which was 500% higher than average cultivars,and also the contents of inositol in ‘Xiaoqieke’,‘Mitangguan’,‘shuangtao’were 14.5mg/g,12.4mg/g and 11.9mg/g,respectively.They were 300% higher than average cultivars.They could be used as breeding materials to produce commercial inositol-enriched type of pumpkin variety in future.
