Academician Dong Yuchen is one of the founder of crop germplasm resources subject in China. This paper study the individual growth on the perspective of the social background and subject development. This paper conducts study from the aspects of social change and individual choice, subject development and individual contribution, academic feature, scientific spirit and personality charm in order to find the key influencing factors of success for inspiring young scholar.
